SMITH-ZIMMERMAN

Catherine Pearl Zimmerman and Preston Lee Smith were united in marriage on October 2, 1993, at Ninth Street Church of the Brethren in Roanoke. Reverend Dan Stanley officiated at the 7:00 p.m. ceremony. A reception was held following the ceremony at the Vinton War Memorial.

The bride was escorted by her father, William W. Zimmerman. Pamela Smith and Deborah Richardson were their sister's honor attendants. Jennifer Ball, friend of the bride, served as bridesmaid. Portia Gibson and Rebecca Wiseman, cousins of the groom, served as guestbook attendant and acolyte.

The best man was Mr. Lonza R. Smith, father of the groom. Greg Smith, brother-in-law of the bride, and Brian Prillaman, friend of the bride and groom, served as groomsmen. Music was provided by Barry Richardson, brother-in-law of the bride.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William W. Zimmerman, of Hardy. She is a graduate of William Byrd High School and James Madison University, where she earned a degree in Finance. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lonza R. Smith, of Vinton. He is a graduate of William Byrd High School and James Madison University, where he received a degree in Political Science. The couple plan to take a honeymoon this spring and will live in Fredericksburg.
