TURNOVERS DOOM FERRUM IN 17-8 LOSS

Sophomore tailback Andy Blatt rushed for 153 yards and one touchdown on 19 carries Saturday to lead Westminster of Pennsylvania to a 17-8 win over Ferrum.

Blatt's third-quarter touchdown, a 30-yard run, gave the Titans (2-2) all the points they needed to defeat Ferrum (2-2). Tim McNeil put the game out of reach with a 40-yard touchdown catch from Sean O'Shea.

O'Shea completed 11 of 21 passes for 146 yards.

Ferrum turned the ball over four times to Westminster, giving up two fumbles and two interceptions. Titans safety Todd McLain recovered a fumble and had one of the interceptions.

Ferrum's lone touchdown came in the fourth quarter on a 1-yard run by Millard Vining. Levi Frye ran for the two-point conversion.

Frye led Ferrum's offense, gaining 85 yards on 17 carries. The passing game was almost non-existent for Ferrum, as the Panthers passed for only 34 yards.
