CHAMPIONSHIP PUMPKIN WEIGHS IN AT 700 POUNDS

Ron Recos walked off with the All-New England Giant Pumpkin Weigh-Off award Saturday. But he didn't have to worry about anyone walking off with his prize pumpkin.

It took nine people just to load the 695.75-pounder into his brother's pickup truck so Recos could enter it in the Topsfield Fair.

Recos, 31, plans to eventually carve the pumpkin into a jack-o-lantern for his mother.

He said the innards will be used to bake "quite a lot" of pumpkin pies. - Associated Press
