MILLSAPS HANDS E&H 1ST LOSS OF SEASON 34-10

Kacy Presley threw three touchdown passes Saturday to lead Millsaps to a 34-10 victory over previously unbeaten Emory & Henry.

Presley, who completed 12 of 21 passes for 167 yards, connected with Jason McCormick for touchdowns of 32 and 1 yards in the final 5:54 of the first half to give Millsaps (3-1) a 18-10 halftime lead.

Emory & Henry (4-1) had a 10-6 lead after Eric Montgomery threw a 39-yard touchdown pass to Todd Woodall and Jay Garnett kicked a 21-yard field goal. The Wasps were held to 236 yards offense.

Kelvin Gladney had 145 yards rushing on 21 carries, including a 1-yard TD run in the first quarter for Millsaps, which had 250 yards rushing and 401 overall.

In the third quarter, Chris Walker had a 7-yard TD catch for the Majors. Johnny Daves kicked a 27-yard field goal and Will Hall returned an interception 37 yards for a touchdown.

\ Randolph-Macon 35

Washington and Lee 14

ASHLAND - Dexter Hurt rushed for 89 yards and scored two touchdowns to lead the Yellow Jackets to a victory over the Generals in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference.

Randolph-Macon (2-2, 1-0 ODAC) shut down Washington and Lee's passing game, holding the Generals (0-3, 0-2) to just two completions out of 18 tries for 7 yards and intercepting the ball four times.

Andy Bush completed 10 of 21 passes for 190 yards for Randolph-Macon, including five passes to Garry Carter. Kerrell Bryant rushed for 70 yards and a touchdown.

Tom Mason rushed for 118 yards on 18 carries for the Generals, who gained 193 yards on the ground. \

Massachusetts 33

James Madison 10

AMHERST, Mass. - Rene Ingoglia ran for 204 yards and four touchdowns as the Minutemen posted a victory over the Dukes.

Ingoglia, a sophomore fullback, scored on runs of 31 and 51 yards as UMass (2-2) coasted to a 14-3 halftime lead in the non-conference game. He added two short runs in the second half, finishing with career highs in both yardage and touchdowns.

James Madison (2-3) joins the Yankee Conference next season.

The Dukes got on the board late in the second quarter on a 29-yard field goal by Trey Weis.

Massachusetts broke things open with a 19-point third quarter to take a 33-3 lead. In addition to Ingoglia's scores, the Minutemen got a 19-yard field goal by Eric Oke and a safety.

RICHMOND - Kevin Longacre's 31-yard field goal with 1:17 remaining gave the Spiders a Yankee Conference victory over the Huskies.

The teams combined for 1,004 yards of total offense as Richmond (4-1, 3-1) rolled up 561 yards, its third best performance ever.

Richmond's winning drive began at its 27-yard line with 6:08 left on the game and the score tied at 21. The Spiders went 59 yards in 13 plays to set up Longacre's game-winning field goal.

The Huskies (1-3, 1-2) lost late in the game for the second consecutive week, having allowed a field goal with six seconds remaining against Rhode Island. They scored first on a 5-yard pass from Clarzell Pearl to Jeff Laing. The 65-yard drive was highlighted by a 22-yard run by Ike Wilkins, who finished with 143 yards.

Richmond scored on its first possession in the second half when Uly Scott accounted for 52 yards of an 80-yard drive and Michael Henderson scored from the 1. Scott finished with 174 yards rushing, which moved him into second place on the all-time Spider list with 2,324 yards rushing.

\ N. Carolina A&T 38

Liberty 30

LYNCHBURG - James White scored four touchdowns, including one on a 67-yard run in the third quarter, and gained 197 yards rushing as the Aggies extinguished the Flames.

North Carolina A&T (4-0) rolled up 297 yards rushing, while holding the Flames (3-2) to just 135 yards.

Leevary Covington led off North Carolina A&T's scoring with a 24-yard interception return in the first quarter. White went on to score on plunges of 1 and 6 yards and also on a 16-yard run.

Aggies quarterback Maseo Bolin completed 18 of 29 passes for 233 yards.

Liberty's Travis Wilemon completed 22 of 33 passes for 285 yards but was hampered by two interceptions.

Liberty rallied in the fourth quarter on 23- and 14-yard touchdown passes by Wilemon.

\ Hampden-Sydney 23

Bridgewater 6

HAMPDEN-SYDNEY - Cetric Gayles rushed 17 times for 156 yards, caught two passes for 99 yards and scored a touchdown as the Tigers defeated the Eagles.

Hampden-Sydney (3-1, 2-0) jumped to a 13-0 lead in the second quarter and then pulled away with another 10 points in the third quarter for the Old Dominion Athletic Conference victory. Hampden-Sydney had 199 yards passing and limited Bridgewater (1-3, 0-2) to just 56 yards passing.

Hampden-Sydney's Robert Thompson rushed 16 times for 104 yards. Mark Hazelwood had 15 tackles and a sack.

Bridgewater's Ronnie Howard carried 29 times for 160 yards. \

SALISBURY, N.C. - Greg Clark threw for three touchdowns and ran for another to lead the Trojans to a victory over the Fighting Bears.

RICHMOND - Rod Williams completed 12 of 34 passes for 162 yards as the Panthers tied the Bulldogs in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association

Williams hit a 14-yard touchdown pass to Paul Macklin in the first quarter for the Panthers (1-3-1, 1-1-1 CIAA).

Monty Bennett of Bowie State (0-4-1, 0-3-1) scored on a 2-yard run in the second quarter.

Bobby Phillips ran 105 yards on 25 carries for Virginia Union.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Kevin White and Todd Harvey rushed for two touchdowns each as the Pirates limited the Golden Bulls to 186 yards of total offense in a CIAA victory.

Hampton (5-0, 4-0 CIAA) gained 454 yards, including 298 on the ground.

The Pirates tallied the first five scores on runs by Anthony Smith and White, a safety, a 22-yard field goal by Ethan Pitts and a 53-yard scoring reception by Malcolm Benson to stake a 25-0 lead by halftime.

The Bulls (0-5, 0-3) got their only score in the third period on Roderick Whitaker's 14-yard catch.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - Quarterback Darren Graham ran for two touchdowns and threw for two more to lead the Shipbuilders to a romp over the Monarchs.

Freshman tailback Jermaine Bellamy also rushed for 204 yards and a touchdown in the victory. The Shipbuilders (2-2-1) added a 1-yard run in the third quarter by Ron Coston.
