OBIT CARTER, FLORA LEE BELCHER
CARTER, Flora Lee Belcher, 74, of Roanoke, died Thursday morning, September
30, 1993 at her residence after a long illness. She was born June 24, 1919 in
Holden, W. Va. She was the daughter of the late Dock Belcher and Mattie Lee
Wilson Belcher. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-one years,
Elder Robert H. Carter Sr. She was a licensed missionary with the Church of
God in Christ. She also served as president of the Pastor's, Minister's and
Elder's wives of the Greater Western District. She was first lady of the Holy
Faith Church of God in Christ, Christiansburg, Va. Her survivors are one son,
Robert H. Carter Jr., Roanoke; three daughters, Linda M. Bolden, Sacramento,
Calif., Phyllis P. English, Newark, Del., and Twyla M. Coleman, Roanoke; three
sons-in-law, Minister John A. Bolden, George H. English Jr., and Calvin
Coleman; a foster daughter, Latasha Mays, Roanoke; nine grandchildren. Funeral
services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, at the Garden of Prayer #7, 3101 Cove Road
N.W., Roanoke, Va. Burial will be at the Schaeffer Memorial Cemetery,
Christiansburg, Va. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 7 to 9
p.m. at the Garden of Prayer #7 Church of God in Christ, Roanoke. Arrangements
