OBIT IRVINE, GERTIE ELIZABETH

IRVINE, Gertie Elizabeth, 69, of Route 1, Vesuvius, died at 1:30 a.m. Sunday, October 3, 1993, in Heritage Hall Nursing Home, Lexington. She was born in Bedford County on March 1, 1924, a daughter of the late Charles Cleveland Noel and Mattie Gertrude Lipscomb Noel. Mrs. Irvine was a member of the Gleenwood Pentecostal Holiness Church, Natural Bridge Station. Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Martha J. Noel of Vesuvius; a son, James Edward Irvine of Buena Vista; a number of nieces and nephews; two great-nephews; a very special friend, Edward Thomas of Natural Bridge Station. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 5, 1993, in the Williams Funeral Service Chapel, Lexington, with the Rev. Claude D. Floyd officiating. Interment will follow in Rockbridge Memorial Gardens, Lexington. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday, October 4, 1993, at Williams Funeral Service and other times at the residence of the sister, Mrs. Martha J. Noel, Route 1, Box 168, Vesuvius.
