OBIT HAMPTON, HELEN FRALIN
HAMPTON, Helen Fralin, 72, of Rocky Mount, died Sunday, October 3, 1993, at
a Salem hospital. She was born July 14, 1921 in Rocky Mount. She was the
daughter of the late Thomas Fralin and Mrs. Della Tyree Fralin Wade. Mrs.
Hampton lived in Rocky Mount all her life and was a disabled employee of
Bassett Furniture Company after 13 years of service. She was a member of
Masjid An-nur in Rocky Mount. She is survived by her husband, Watt Hampton of
the home; two daughters, Nancy (Eddie) Muse and Shirley (Larry) Turner, both
of Rocky Mount; one son, Thomas Eddie Preston, Stratford, Conn.; eight
grandchildren, Lisa Muse, Betina Muse, Larry Turner, Jr., Toure Turner,
Gregory Muse, all of Rocky Mount, Annette Smith, Boones Mill, Carlton Turner,
Roanoke, and Kenneth Muse, Henry; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sadie
Tuning and Lucy Young, both of Rocky Mount; two brothers, Lawson Fralin, Rocky
Mount and William Wade, Columbus, Ohio; one sister-in-law, Keva Fralin, Rocky
Mount. Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 6 at Franklin
Memorial Park, Rocky Mount, with Imam Wali El-Amin officiating. Remains will
be at Hairston Funeral Home, Martinsville, Va. There will be no visitation.
