OBIT BOONE, HARRY ERNEST
BOONE, Harry Ernest, 96, a longtime resident of Banning, Calif., and a
native of the State of Virginia, passed away Thursday, September 30, 1993, at
the Banning Health Care Convalescent Hospital, Banning, Calif., after a short
illness. Mr. Boone, the last surviving member of the M.D. and Mary Boone
family, Wirtz, Va., was born on Blackwater River near Wirtz, on August 12,
1897. His parents were members of the Old Order Dunkard Brethren Church. He
spent his entire working life as a cabinet maker and carpenter primarily in
and around Banning, Calif. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife,
Mabel in 1964; and second wife, Lois McCracken in January, 1992; brothers,
William, Curtis, Thomas, Price, John, Dexter, Robert, Cline, and Macy;
sisters, India and Bessie. He is survived by 56 nieces and nephews who reside
throughout this country. Interment, following graveside services on Tuesday,
October 5, 1993, in the Sangorganio Memorial Park, Banning, Calif., beside his
first wife, Mabel. Wiefel's and Son Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
