Tultex Corp.
Tultex Corp., Martinsville fleece-wear maker with plants in Roanoke, Bland and Smyth counties, said Wednesday it expects third-quarter 1993 earnings per share to be lower than the same period last year, reflecting slower take-out by major retailers.
Actual results for the third quarter and nine months ending Oct. 2 are to be released on Oct. 21.
In 1992's third quarter, Tultex reported net income equal to 33 cents per common share. "Major retail customers were slow to take fleece products, resulting in revenues that are anticipated to be lower than previously expected," said Tultex Chairman John Franck.
