OBIT SATCHWELL, GERTRUDE EDITH REID

SATCHWELL, Gertrude Edith Reid, 89, of Yorktown, died Wednesday, October 6, 1993, at her home. She was a native of Bridgeport, Conn., and was a former resident of Roanoke for 62 years. She was a Master Social Worker and was retired from the Children's Home Society, Roanoke. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, Roanoke. Surviving are four daughters, Edith Bonfanti, Santibel, Fla., Dr. Louisa Batman, Newark, N.J., Shirley Keiper, Camp Hill, Pa., Susan Satchwell, Yorktown, Va.; one son, Charles B. Satchwell, Camp Hill, Pa.; 13 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 9, 1993, at Christ Episcopal Church, Roanoke. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 753 Thimble Shoals Blvd., Suite 2B, Newport News, Va. 23606 or the Children's Home Society, 1620 5th St., S.W., Roanoke, Va. 24016.
