OBIT FOWLKES, H. B.

FOWLKES, H. B., 64, of Durham, N.C., died at his home in Durham, N.C., Tuesday evening, October 5, 1993. Mr. Fowlkes was born and raised in Danville, Va. Prior to coming to Durham, N.C., last year, he had lived in Roanoke and was formerly General Manager of ADT Tire Company. Mr. Fowlkes served in the U.S. Air Force and attended Averette College. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Durham, N.C. Mr. Fowlkes is survived by his wife, Julie Pleasant Fowlkes; a son, Tony Fowlkes, Danville; two daughters, Vanessa Fowlkes and Valerie Fowlkes, both of Richmond; his mother, Sadie B. Fowlkes, Durham, N.C.; three grandchildren. The funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Durham, N.C. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church, 414 Cleveland St., Durham, N.C. 27701.
