MAYOR USES WHEELCHAIR FOR AWARENESS EVENT

Handicapped Parking Awareness Day, sponsored by the Mayor's Committee for the Disabled, will be observed Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Valley View Mall.

Members of the committee will pass out literature and discuss recent changes in handicapped parking.

Roanoke City Mayor David Bowers will use a wheelchair to shop from 11:30 a.m. until 12:15 p.m. when he will talk about his wheelchair experience.
