OBIT MAYS, GERALD CLARK

MAYS, Gerald Clark, 91, of Salem, died Friday, October 1, 1993. He was a native of Altoona, Pa., where he had lived most of his life. He retired as a newspaper reporter from the Altoona Mirror. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Cassidy Mays and a son, William C. Mays. Survivors include one son, Robert G. Mays, Rockville, Md.; four grandchildren, Daniel Mays, Louisville, Ky., Richard Mays, Dallas, Texas, John Mays, Salem, Christy Hakimi, Woodlawn Hills, Calif.; seven great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on October 9, 1993, 11 a.m. at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem. The family will receive friends following the memorial service at the funeral home.
