OBIT BLANKENSHIP, MARVIN E.
BLANKENSHIP, Marvin E., 66, of Route 1, Narrows, passed away Thursday,
October 7, 1993, in Montgomery Regional Hospital, Blacksburg. Born in Giles
County on May 30, 1927, he was a son of the late William Franklin and Lillie
Mae Clark Blankenship. He was formerly employed with the Hoosier Construction
Company at Bellepoint, W.Va. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank
and George Blankenship; one sister, Zella Blankenship Williams. He is survived
by three brothers, James Blankenship of Chicago, Ill., Benny and Emmitt
Blankenship, both of Narrows; three sisters, Helen B. Taylor of Owego, N.Y.;
Drema Whittaker of Christiansburg; Betty Snuffer of Baltimore, Md.; several
nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, October 10,
1993, at 2 p.m. at the Riffe's Funeral Chapel in Narrows with the Rev. Walter
Blankenship officiating. Burial will follow in the Dotson-Clark Cemetery,
Route 2, Narrows. The family will receive friends at Riffe's Funeral Service,
Saturday evening from 6 to 8.
