OBIT WHITLOW, CLARA TURNER
WHITLOW, Clara Turner, 74, of Narrows, passed away Friday evening, October
8, 1993, at a Wytheville nursing facility. Born at Lurich on July 17, 1919,
she was a daughter of the late James J. and Evie Davis Turner. Mrs. Whitlow
was retired from VPI and SU in Blacksburg, was a member of the Glen Lyn Church
of Christ and was preceded in death by her husband, James Aubrey Whitlow.
Surviving are two sons, Pastor Aubrey L. Whitlow Sr. of Marion and Michael Ray
Whitlow of Bozoo, W.Va.; one brother, Myrtus L. Turner of Harrisonburg; one
sister, Mary Elizabeth Thomas of Princeton, W.Va.; four grandchildren; one
great-granddaughter. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, October 11,
1993, at 2 p.m. at Riffe's Funeral Chapel in Narrows with Ministers Mike Lynn
and David Stauffer officiating. Burial will follow in Sunrise Memorial Gardens
in Rich Creek. The family will receive friends at Riffe's Funeral Service
Sunday evening from 7 to 9.
