OBIT SAUNDERS, LYMAN E.
SAUNDERS, Lyman E., 82, of Salem, died Saturday, October 9, 1993. Mr.
Saunders served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European Theatre,
was a member of Melrose Baptist Church and a retired letter carrier with the
U.S. Postal Service. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Helm Saunders
and a son, Gerald Edward Saunders. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law,
Charles P. and Pat Saunders, Salem; his grandchildren, Steven, Kerri, Greg,
Todd and Shawn; two great-grandchildren; his brothers, J. Garland Saunders,
Roanoke County, H. Cecil Saunders, Vinton. Funeral services will be held at
Oakey's North Chapel, Tuesday, October 12, 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. Larry E.
Sprouse officating. Interment in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will
receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Oakey's North Chapel.
