Virginia farm markets were closed Monday for the Columbus Day holiday. Commodities and livestock transactions will resume today.

\ Monday's auction of Treasury bills and bonds was postponed because of the holiday, which closed banks and government offices. Results of the auction, expected today, will be reported Wednesday in the Roanoke Times & World-News.

\ VF Corp., Wyomissing, Pa. parent of Bassett-Walker Inc. of Martinsville, said Monday it has agreed to acquire privately held H.H. Cutler Co. for $160 million, including assumption of debt. Cutler, based in Grand Rapids, Mich., makes and markets licensed brand-name youthwear sold primarily through mass merchants. It projects 1993 revenues in excess of $200 million.
