FLOYD GROUP SEEKING HELP WITH MUSIC HISTORY

The Floyd County Historical Society and the Old Church Gallery are seeking the names of musical groups that have ever performed from Floyd County. All types of bands and musicians are sought; gospel, folk, bluegrass, jazz, old-time, rock and others.

The information will accompany an exhibit at the Old Church Gallery, "Floyd County Music Making: A Look at the County's Musical History."

The information needed includes the name of the group, approximate years they played, members and their instruments and the section of Floyd County that the group comes from.

Call-in responses will be taken at 745-2979 Fridays, 1:30-4:30 p.m. and Saturdays, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. through Nov. 27. Mail-in responses will be accepted at: Music Survey, P.O. Box 41, Floyd, Va., 24091.
