BERRY COLLEGE DOWNS UVA 3-1 IN WOMEN'S SOCCER

In Charlottesville, Liz Kelley scored the lone goal for Virginia which lost 3-1 to Berry College in women's soccer on Monday. The Vikings, who were outshot 20-7, got their goals from Tracy Moll, Kris Mayo and Gina Genduso.

Mia Erdman tied the Lynchburg College career scoring record with her third goal in an 8-1 Old Dominion Athletic Conference women's soccer victory over Hollins. The junior has 12 goals this season and 35 for her career.

In Hillsville, Suzanne Stoneman hit two free throws with 25 seconds to clinch Fieldale-Collinsville's 43-40 girls' high school basketball victory over Carroll County. The Cavaliers (5-7) were led by Yvonne Hall with 14. Carroll County dropped to 4-4.

In Christiansburg, Rebecca McNeil scored a game-high 22 points as Christiansburg coasted to a non-district girls' basketball victory Monday.

In Richmond, the Roanoke Star Green 16-and-under team lost a shootout 4-2 to Atlantic United of Virginia Beach in the final of the Columbus Day Soccer Tournament on Sunday.

Three Roanokers placed Sunday in the Fall Foliage Classic, a mountain bike race held in Richwood, W.Va. Ed Dickinson of Team Redline East Coasters finished second overall. East Coasters rider Kyle Inman placed fourth in the veterans class and 13th overall, and teammate Jim Lambui placed third in the expert class and sixth overall.
