Virginia Tech's golf team produced what 11th-year coach Jay Hardwick called the biggest victory in his tenure Tuesday when the Hokies rallied to win the 14-team Kansas Invitational at Alvamar Golf Course in Lawrence, Kan.

Tech shot a course-record 286 in the second round, then shot a final-round 287 to finish at 877, overtaking 10th-ranked Kansas (880) and second-round leader Oral Roberts (889). Tech's five players collected three birdies on the final two holes to cap the comeback.

Tech junior Brian Sharp was the top individual with a 216, including a 2-under 69 in the final round - the lowest score of the tournament. Freshman Curtis Deal was second individually at 217.
