OBIT BASHAM, ZELLA PHILLIPS COLEMAN
BASHAM, Zella Phillips Coleman, 66, of Salem, died Wednesday, October 13,
1993. She was born in Snowville,Va. and was the daughter of the late Saford
and Tida Phillips. She was retired from the General Electric Corporation and
was a member of Matrimony Primitive Baptist Church. She was preceded in death
by her husbands, Frederick A. Coleman and Roscoe E. Basham. She is survived by
one son and daughter-in-law, Phil W. and Cheryl Coleman, Roanoke; three
daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Pete Smith, Salem, Judy and Gerald
Olson, Palm Bay, Fla., Kim and Kevin Jones, Salem; three brothers, Eather
Phillips, Allen Phillips, and Laddie Phillips, all of Christiansburg; two
sisters, Lidas P. Howell, Christiansburg, Agnes P. Graham, Salem; five
grandchildren, Scott and Shane Smith, Bridget and Stephanie Coleman and
Kameron Jones. "Zella will be greatly missed by all who knew her and always
loved". Funeral services will be conducted 12:45 p.m. Saturday at the John M.
Oakey & Son Funeral Home, Salem. Officiating will be Elder Paul M. Clark.
Interment will be in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends
Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be
made to the Salem Rescue Squad.
