BOLTE-LEADBETTER
Virginia Lee Leadbetter of Lexington and John Dietrich Bolte, Jr. of
Blacksburg were married Saturday, August 28, 1993, at Trinity United Methodist
Church in Lexington. The Reverend JamesGrimmer of Foundry United Methodist
Church in Virginia Beach officiated the Wedding Homily, and the
ReverendKenneth Patrick of Trinity UnitedMethodist Church in Lexington
assisted. Mr. Benjamin Beckley was acolyte, and Mr. and Mrs. Scott Duff were
greeters for the service. Ms. Loretta Fox of Roanoke was the maid of honor;
and Ms. Sarah Leadbetter and Ms. Joann Ware ofLexington were the bridesmaids.
The flower girls were Miss Emily Tomlin of Buena Vista and Miss Lauren Tufaro
of Millboro. The best man was Mr. James Carlson of Dallas, Texas; and
thegroomsmen were Mr. Richard Tufaro of Millboro, and Mr. Allan Wolfe
ofAsheville, N.C. A bridal shower was given by Mrs. Becky Bolte and Mrs.
Jewell Bolte for friends of the bride. The bride's parents hosted a dinner in
their home for family members to give their gifts to the couple. The rehearsal
dinner at theNatural Bridge Hotel was given and hosted by the groom's parents.
Thewedding was directed by Mrs. AnneGrimmer and photographed by thebrother of
the bride, Mr. JeremiahLeadbetter of Andres's Studio inLexington. The wedding
music wasprovided by organist, Mr. David Coffey; trumpeter, Mr. John Brodie;
violinist, Mrs. Laura Brodie; soloist, Ms. Dorothy Perkins; and vocalists,
Mrs. Barbara Lemmon and Ms. Doris Cox. Thereception, which was held in the
Trinity Fellowship Hall, was catered and hosted by the bride's parents. The
guest book was attended by Ms. Ann Johnson. Sanctuary and reception service
was provided by Mrs. Susan Baker, Mrs. Veronica Dale, Mrs. Lynda Gray, Mrs.
Nellie Reynolds, Ms. Eugenia Robinson, and Mr. BoLeadbetter. The bride wore a
silkshantung gown with beaded alencon lace and her mother's headpiece - a
handmade scalloped crown of pearls. She carried her mother's prayer book,
which was adorned with white roses. The bride, who is the daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. RaymondColeman Leadbetter of Lexington, and the granddaughter of Mrs.
Virginia Johnson of Lexington, and Mrs. Rose Spraigins of Gasburg, received
her bachelor andmaster's degrees from Radford University. She is an English
teacher at Virginia Western and New River CommunityColleges. The groom, who is
the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Dietrich Bolte of Blacksburg, and the grandson of
Mrs. Viola Bolte of Petersburg, received his bachelor'sdegree from Virginia
Tech and hismaster's degree from Radford University. He is an English teacher
at Craig County High School. For their wedding trip, the couple visited The
Homestead in Hot Springs. They have made their home in Craig County.
