GREENWAYS PROGRAM DIRECTOR TO SPEAK

Edward T. McMahon, director of The Conservation Fund's American Greenways program, will be speaking in Roanoke today and Wednesday.

McMahon, an author and land-use expert, will give a lecture and slide presentation tonight at 7:30 at the Hopkins Planetarium on "Preserving the Quality of Life in the Roanoke Valley" by preserving more open space.

He also will speak to the Roanoke Kiwanis Club at 1 p.m. on Wednesday at the Radisson Patrick Henry Hotel.
