OBIT BROWN, FULTON HENRY

BROWN, Fulton Henry, 76, of Greenville Avenue, Staunton, died at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, October 17, 1993, in King's Daughters' Hospital. Mr. Brown was born May 21, 1917, in Franklin County, a son of the late Troy C. and Sallie F. Brown. A contractor and farmer, he was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church and a charter member of the Jollivue-Barterbrook Ruritan Club with 39 years perfect attendance. Mr. Brown served on the board of the Augusta County Service Authority and was president of Augusta Mutual Insurance Company. He was a member of Staunton Masonic Lodge No. 13 and a Scottish Rite 32 Mason. Surviving are his wife, Virginia LaPorte Brown; three brothers, A. Dale Brown, Wirtz, H. Wayne Brown, Roanoke, Calvin D. Brown, Richmond; a sister, Maureen Brown Ellis, Midlothian; a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Wallace C. Brown, Wilford H. Brown, T. Ralph. Brown. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Hamrick Funeral Home conducted by Rev. Roy W. Howard and Rev. Clifford D. Caldwell. Burial will be in Thornrose Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be James E. Williams Jr., James V. Guyann, Thomas W. Small, Dale C. Smith, Robert E. Bragg, and F. Keyser Kirtley Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be elders and deacons of Bethel Presbyterian Church, board members of the Augusta Service Authority, board members of the Augusta Mutual Insurance Company and members of Jollivue-Barterbrook Ruritan Club. Memorials may be made to the Memorial Fund of Bethel Presbyterian Church, c/o John B. Howell, Route 1 Box 169, Staunton, VA 24401. Friends may call at the residence at any time.
