OBIT ANDERSON, BESSIE C.

ANDERSON, Bessie C., 94, of Roanoke, passed away Tuesday, October 19, 1993 in a local hospital. She was the widow of Albert L. Anderson. She was a member of the Waverly Place Baptist Church for over 60 years, where she served her Lord through many capacities, including Sunday School and Women's Missionary Union. She will be remembered by friends and family for her sweet and gentle Christian spirit. Mrs. Anderson was the only child of the late John Hersey and Berta Idelia Loyd. She was preceded in death by a son, Sherman L. (Jack) Anderson. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, John Curtis and Dorothy Williams Anderson, Roanoke; two daughters, Gertrude A. Bayse, Roanoke; Joyce A. McLemore, Vinton; daughter-in-law, Mamie M. Anderson, Roanoke; four grandchildren and their spouses, H. Wayne and Ann Jamison, Boones Mill, Wallace and Carolyn Jamison, Elaine and Robert Hale, all of Roanoke, Bethany and John Scaduto, Fort Worth, Texas; five great-grandchildren, Mark and Holly Jamison, Randy and Lori Gail Jamison, Luke Hale. Funeral services will be at Oakey's Vinton Chapel, 1 p.m. Friday, with the Rev. Charles Hoffler officiating. Interment will be in the Fair vIew Cemetery. Friends may call at Oakey's Vinton Chapel.
