`TAKE BACK NIGHT' MARCH AND RALLY

Members of the Radford University community will gather Tuesday at 6 p.m. on Heth Plaza for the university's first "Take Back the Night" march and rally.

The candlelight march, which has become an annual tradition on campuses and in communities across the country, will protest violence against women and promote awareness that this is a human issue, not just a women's issue.

One of the sponsors of the march and rally - Radford University Sexual Assault Advocates, Friends and Educators is asking rally participants to wear a purple ribbon tied with a knot for every friend or family member who has been sexually assaulted, to show support for victims of sexual assault and violence against women.

March participants should bring flashlights.
