OBIT-AKERS, HELEN ALDERMAN

AKERS, Helen Alderman, 75, of Floyd, passed away Wednesday, October 20, 1993, at the Raleigh Court Health Care Center in Roanoke, Va. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Akers, her parents, P. A. and Bessie Lee Alderman, two brothers, Bennett and Harry Alderman. She was a member of Floyd Baptist Church. She is survived by one sister and brother-in-law, Louise A. and Ralph Hylton, Floyd; one brother and sister-in-law, Estrage and Ethel Alderman, Roanoke; one brother-in-law and four sisters-in-law, L. C. and Hazel Akers, Floyd, Va., Emily Akers, Roanoke, Va., Mary Alderman, Finksburg, Md., Louise Gray, Roanoke, Va.; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, October 23, 1993 at Gardner Funeral Home, with Rev. Alton Griffin officiating. Interment will follow in the Topeco Cemetery. Friends may call after 1 p.m. Friday, where the family will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Arrangements by Gardner Funeral Home.
