OBIT VAUGHAN, HOWELL ROBINSON JR.

VAUGHAN, Howell Robinson Jr., ("Buddy"), 80, of Roanoke, passed away Sunday, October 17, 1993, at Lewis-Gale Hospital. Mr. Vaughan was born July 1, 1913, in Princeton, W.Va., the son of the late Howell Robinson Vaughan Sr. and Bessie Bishop Vaughan. He was preceded in death by his wife, Emma Zirkle Vaughan; his half-brother, Reginald Vaughan. Surviving is his sister, Ruth Vaughan Tyler, Salem; his half sister, Linda Vaughan Jordan, Newport News; half brothers, Howard Vaughan, Alvis Vaughan, both of Memphis, Tenn.; a nephew and several nieces. Special friends, Polly Morgan, Harold and Shirley Horn, and a host of devoted friends mourn his passing. Mr. Vaughan donated his body to medical research. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. A memorial service will be held Monday, October 25, 1993, at 2 p.m. in the Friendship Manor Chapel, corner of Hershberger and Florist Road N.W., Roanoke, with the Dr. Denver J. Davis and the Rev.
