I-81 CRASH KILLS 81-YEAR-OLD FLORIDA MAN

Gilbert G. Machon of New Port Richey, Fla., was northbound on Interstate 81 around 11 p.m. when the car he was driving ran into a jackknifed tractor-trailer just south of the U.S. 220 exit at Troutville, according to state police.

Police said that a station wagon in the left-hand lane of northbound I-81 veered into the right-hand lane, striking the driver's door of the tractor-trailer, causing the truck to jackknife.

No information was available on charges resulting from the accident.
