OBIT HUTTON, REV. ROBERT GARLAND
HUTTON, Rev. Robert Garland, 68, of Marion, died Sunday, October 24, 1993,
at his home. Rev. Hutton was an ordained Baptist minister in Smyth County for
many years. He was a veteran of World War II, a member of Marion VFW Post
#4667, a life member of D.A.V., and a member of Falling Water Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Edna Evans Hutton, Marion; two daughters and
sons-in-law, Linda Hutton and Donnie Crigger, Marion, Danita Hutton and Dale
Alexander, Salem; two grandsons, Jeffrey E. Crigger, Charlottesville, Shannon
D. Crigger, Marion; six sisters, Mrs. Willie (Mary Ellen) DeFriece, Ollie Mae
Wagner, Ruby Burchett, all of Marion, Joyce Stevenson, Atkins, Mrs. Gene
(Thelma) Wolfe, Clinton, Utah, Mrs. Garland (Gladys) Taylor, Honaker; several
nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 27, 1993,
at 11 a.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Martin and Rev. Mike Sage
officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery where military rites
will be conducted by Marion VFW Post #4667. The family will receive friends
Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
