OBIT SMITH, MARSHALL HENRY
SMITH, Marshall Henry, 78, of Crozet, passed away Sunday, October 24, 1993,
in a Charlottesville hospital. He was born July 30, 1915, in Craig County. He
was a son of the late John H. Smith and Mary S. Smith. He was also preceded in
death by a brother, Lee W. Smith. He was a retired employee of Acme Visible
Records in Crozet for 33 1/2 years. He was a member of the New Bethel
Christian Church, Craig, a member of the V.F.W. and the Woodmen Of The World.
He was a U.S. Navy World War veteran. He is survived by his wife of 55 years,
Mabel W. Smith; a son and daughter-and-law, Jerry Marshall Smith and Madeline
Smith, Roanoke; one daughter and son-in-law, Ina N. Sipe and Bob Sipe, Crozet;
a sister, Virginia R. Woods, New Castle; eight grandchildren; 12
great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews. The family suggests
donations be made to the Western Albemarle Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 188, Crozet,
Va. 22932, or the Pagaus Helicopter Service, University of Virginia Hospital,
Charlottesville, Va. The family will receive friends Tuesday, 7 to 8 p.m. at
the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel, Crozet. Graveside services will be 11:30
a.m. Wednesday, at the Holly Memorial Gardens, Charlottesville, with the
Pastor Alan Thompson officiating.
