OBIT MAXEY, BESSIE SHILLING

MAXEY, Bessie Shilling, 95, of Vinton, died Sunday, October 24, 1993. She was a member of Faith Life Baptist Church, Montvale. Bessie was preceded in death by her husband, Coy Shilling, and was the widow of Charles H. Maxey. Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, Carl Shilling, Salem, Wesley and Eula Shilling, Roanoke County, Charles and Shirley Maxey, Hardy, Kenneth and Mildred Maxey, Franklin County, Thomas Maxey, Bedford County; her daughters and sons-in-law, Vanola Williamson, Roanoke, Madeline and Emory Hall, Salem, Gladys and Cyrus Cronise, Roanoke County, Garnette and Walter Dale, Richmond, Mary and Starkey Mills, Fort Walton Beach, Fla., Faye and Johnny Craighead, Roanoke County; 23 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; numerous stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at Oakey's Vinton Chapel Wednesday, October 27, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Johnny Basham officiating. Interment will be in Monte Vista Cemetery, Franklin County. Friends may call at Oakey's Vinton Chapel.
