OBIT REYNOLDS, PAUL EDWARD
REYNOLDS, Paul Edward, 82, of Salem, died Tuesday, October 26, 1993 in a
local hospital after an extended illness. Mr. Reynolds, a Roanoke native,
attended Virginia Military Institute and was a veteran of World War II. He was
retired as the Assistant General Manager at WDBJ-TV after a career in radio
and television broadcasting that spanned 41 years. Mr. Reynolds was a past
President of the Rotary Club of Roanoke and had served as District
Commissioner of the Boy Scouts of America. He had a life long interest in
aviation, having received his pilots license in the mid '30s. He was an
outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, skeet, fishing and golf. He was preceded in
death by his wife of 54 years, Virginia M. (Bick) Reynolds. Surviving are one
son and daughter-in-law, Phillip W. and Patricia C. Reynolds, Daleville;
daughters and sons-in-law, Susan R. and Kenneth D. Bowen, Salem, Linda R. and
Charles W. Murray, Boones Mill; grandchildren, Paul E. Reynolds II, Jennifer
A. Reynolds, Kenneth D. Bowen, Jr. and wife Nikki, Chris L. Bowen, Michael P.
Bowen, Kristin A. Murray; one great-grandson, Branden L. Bowen; one half
sister, Charlotte Brisach; one aunt, Clara B. Cundiff and a number of nieces
and nephews. Funeral services will be held at Oakey's South Chapel 11 a.m.
Friday with the Rev. Larry Eenigenburg officiating. Interment will follow in
Sherwood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be
made to the Salem Rescue Squad, the Salvation Army or the Rescue Mission. The
family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Oakey's South Chapel.
