OBIT-SWISHER, MARGARET PULTZ, ("PEGGY")

SWISHER, Margaret Pultz, ("Peggy"), 72, of Lexington, died Thursday, October 28, 1993 in Stonewall Jackson Hospital. Born January 1, 1921 in Rockbridge County, she was the daughter of the late Herbert McCutchan Pultz and Laura Hassie Lam Pultz. Mrs. Swisher retired from the Rockbridge County School system in 1985 after teaching for over 25 years. She was a member of the New Monmouth Presbyterian Church and treasurer of Rockbridge Co. Retired Teachers Association, local coordinator volunteer for the Red Cross Blood Mobile, member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Kerrs Creek Fire Dept., Retired Volunteer 4-H Leader, also an Honorary member of the 4-H All Stars. Surviving are her husband, Harry Echard Swisher, Lexington; one son, Richard P. Swisher, Earlysville; two daughters, Frances S. Schonder, Richmond, Betty S. Barbour, Bassett; one brother, Walter M. Pultz, Buena Vista; and six grandchildren. A memorial service will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday morning from the New Monmouth Presbyterian Church, with Rev. H. Wray Sherman officiating. The family suggest memorial contributions be made to a favorite charity. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday, at the Harrison Funeral Home.
