OBIT PLYMIRE, BOYD GILES, DR.
PLYMIRE, Boyd Giles, Dr., 64, of Radford, died Thursday, October 26, 1993
at Radford Community Hospital. Dr. Plymire was a retired Professor Emiterus in
the business department of Radford University. He formerly worked at Grove
City College in Grove City, Pa. and Penn State University at State College,
Penn. He received his Bachelors Degree at Indiana State Teacher's College,
Indiana, Pa. and his Master's Degree from Penn State University. He attended
the University of Pittsburg before receiving his Doctorate of Education at the
University of North Dakota at Grand Forks, North Dakota. He was an active
volunteer worker at Radford Community Hospital until his health intervened. He
was a former Deacon and Elder at the Presbyterian Church of Radford. He is
survived by his wife, Margaret B. Plymire; four daughters and sons-in-law,
Penna and Jerry Rogers of Wakefield, Va., Beth and Michael Stovall of Roanoke,
Gwynne and Stephen Ryan of Christiansburg, Melinda and David Williams of
Willis, Va.; three brothers, Albert Plymire, Warren Plymire, and Joseph
Plymire, all of Washington, Pa.; three sisters, Mary Edna Matlock of
Washington, Pa., Ruth Edgar of Washington, Pa., and Goldie Mossner of Peoria,
Ill; and one granddaughter. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday,
October 31, 1993 at the DeVilbiss Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. George Ducker
officiating. The familly will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the
funeral home prior to the chapel services. In lieu of flowers, an expression
of sympathy may be made in the form of a donation to the American Heart
Association, Radford Community Hospital Critical Care Unit, or the
Presbyterian Church of Radford. DeVilbiss Funeral Home, Radford, is in charge
of arrangements.
