Cynthia S. Glatt and James D.Poindexter, Jr., were married October 16, 1993 in Lee Chapel at Washington and Lee University, with the Rev. William Crites and G. Mark Washington officiating. The reception was held at Fairfax Lounge, Washington and Lee University. The maids of honor were Sandra Fisher, and Karen Bowman, both friends of the bride. The bridesmaids were Barbara Davis, Deanna Glatt, Michele Mathis, andHeather Glatt, all sisters of the bride. Flowergirl was Taylor McDaniel, friend of the bride. The best mans was James D. Poindexter, Sr., father of the groom. The ushers were Don Gilmer, SteveRobertson, Dennis Hayes, and DellBlankenship, all friends of the groom.Junior ushers were Chris Glatt and Josh Glatt, nephews of the bride. Ringbearer was Trey Davis, nephew of the bride. The guestbook was attended by WendyGilliam. Bridal portraits by Jim Markey Photography. The bride wore a chapel length gown and carried a bouquet of red roses, white carnations, and baby's breath. The bride is the daughter of Mr. Richard Glatt and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Black of Lexington. She is a graduate of Lexington High School and the College of Health Sciences. She is employed byCommunity Hospital of Roanoke. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James D. Poindexter, Sr., of Roanoke. He is agraduate of Patrick Henry High School and the College of Health Sciences. He is employed by the Roanoke County Sheriffs Department. The newlyweds will live in Roanoke, after their wedding trip toGatlinburg, Tenn.
