Cummings had scoring runs of 8, 40, 48 and 7 yards and caught a 30-yard touchdown pass from David Dixon. Todd Cook scored the other touchdown for Alleghany (6-3, 2-2).
Chris Almond caught a 34-yard touchdown pass from Matt Bryant to account for the only touchdown for William Byrd (4-4, 1-3).
\ Martinsville 34\ Dan River 7
RINGGOLD - Manti Venable ran for 179 yards and four touchdowns on 17 carries as the Bulldogs crushed the Wildcats in a Piedmont District matchup.
Dan River (4-4, 3-4) took a 7-0 lead on a Phillip Walker 1-yard run and the conversion kick, but that would be all the scoring the Wildcats would do for the evening.
Venable took control, scoring on runs of 37, 1, 17 and 66 yards for Martinsville (8-0, 7-0).
Dan River was 5-of-22 passing. Two of those throws were intercepted.
\ Chatham 34\ Fieldale-Collinsville 6
COLLINSVILLE - Maurice Chalmers rushed for 105 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries and threw for a TD as Chatham whipped Fieldale-Collinsville in a Piedmont District clash.
Chatham (5-3, 3-3) bolted to a 21-0 halftime lead and shut out Fieldale-Collinsville (2-6, 2-5) until the final period.
Adam Lovelace added two touchdowns for Chatham.
Brian Alley scored Fieldale-Collinsville's only points on a 35-yard run.

SALTVILLE - Jason Childers scored four touchdowns as the Indians swamped the Panthers in a Hogoheegee District game.
Childers scored on runs of 8 and 62 yards, and caught scoring passes of 4 and 13 yards from Chris Bass as the Indians (6-2, 4-2) cruised.
Kevin Burton added a pair of fourth-quarter touchdowns on runs covering 8 and 55 yards.
George Wythe 33\ Carroll County 7
HILLSVILLE - The Maroons ran their record to 8-0 with a non-district victory over the Cavaliers.
Randy Blevins returned a kickoff 75 yards for a touchdown and ran 5 yards with a fumble recovery for another score. He also intercepted a pass. George Wythe had three interceptions, two by Jeffery Bourne, who rushed three times for 78 yards and a touchdown.
George Wythe took command with 14 points in the third quarter.
