ROANOKE TO HOST SPECIAL OLYMPICS FALL TOURNAMENTS THIS WEEKEND

Roanoke will host the Special Olympics Fall Tournaments on Friday and Saturday when approximately 400 athletes from across the state will compete in soccer, roller skating and volleyball.

Team preliminaries for soccer and volleyball will be held on Friday at 3 p.m. On Saturday, the soccer and volleyball finals will begin at 9 a.m.

All soccer events will be at River's Edge Sports Complex and the volleyball team competition will be at North Cross School. Volleyball individual skills competition will be at Cave Spring Junior High School at 9 a.m. on Saturday. The roller skating competition will be held on Saturday at Star City Skate Center.
