OBIT SLEMP, MARGARET BRANCH
SLEMP, Margaret Branch, 90, of Sugar Grove, widow of Vernon I. Slemp, died
Tuesday, November 2, 1993, at her home. Mrs. Slemp was a long time member of
the Ebenezer Lutheran Church. She is survived by two daughters, Barbara S.
"Tillie" Crews of Boydton, Peggy Slemp of Newport News; two sons and one
daughter-in-law, Vernon I. (Pete) and Billie Slemp of Texas City, Texas, Dan
A. (Abe) Slemp of Sugar Grove; one sister, Emily Branch McGough of Wilmington,
N.C.; one brother, Dan B. Branch Jr. of Hubert, N.C.; seven grandchildren;
eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 4,
1993, 11 a.m. at Ebenezer Lutheran Church, with Pastor James H. Bangle
officiating. Burial will follow in Slemp Cemetery in Sugar Grove. In lieu of
flowers, donations may be made to the Ebenezer Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 151,
Marion, Va. 24354 or to the Sugar Grove Life Saving Crew, Sugar Grove, Va.
24375. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at
Seaver-Brown Chapel.
