TECH RUNNER GETS HONOR FROM METRO

Virginia Tech cross country runner Joe Edwards is the Metro Conference's male student-athlete of the month for October, the league announced Wednesday.

Edwards was fourth in the Metro championships last weekend and earned All-Metro honors. That followed an eighth-place finish in a four-team meet and an 84th-place finish in the 200-runner Paul Short Invitational. The senior mechanical engineering and mathematics major earned a 3.33 grade-point average last semester. - Staff report
