FOREST SERVICE TO MOVES ITS HEADQUARTERS

The headquarters office for Jefferson National Forest is moving Monday from the Poff Federal Building into a new 23,000-square-foot building at 5162 Valleypointe Parkway.

The building in Valleypointe Development Park also will house offices for the Food and Drug Administration and Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service. More than 60 employees will be stationed there.

Changes in Forest Service space needs and a desire to be closer to the national forest boundaries and to forestry visitors led to the move. An open house is planned from 1 to 3 p.m. Nov. 18.

The new Jefferson National Forest telephone number will be 265-6054. Office hours will be 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
