FLETCHER, Edna Taylor, 91, of Vinton, formerly of Honaker, passed away
Wednesday morning, November 3, 1993, in a Salem hospital. Born in Russell
County, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Jenny Barrett Taylor. She
had resided in the Honaker area most of her life before moving to Vinton some
20 years ago. She was formerly a school teacher in the Russell County School
System. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hatcher Fletcher and one
son, James Fletcher. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Ron (Nancy) Miller
of Goodview and Mrs. Mitchell (Betty) Harris of Miami, Fla.; one son, Howard
H. Fletcher of Goodview; one sister, Miss Helen Taylor of Lebanon; four
grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be conducted
at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the Chapel of the Thrasher Memorial United Methodist
Church in Vinton with the Rev. George Wesley Jones and the Rev. Anthony Layman
officiating. Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in the
Russell Memorial Cemetery at Lebanon with the Rev. George Wesley Jones
officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to
Thrasher Memorial United Methodist Church at Vinton. There will be no
visitation at the Funeral Home. Honaker Funeral Home is in charge of the
arrangements.
