OBIT-BAIRD, THOMAS BRYAN

BAIRD, Thomas Bryan, 86, of Newport News, died Monday, November 1, 1993, in Riverside Regional Medical Center. He was a life-long resident of Newport News. He retired in 1972, after 50 years of service as an instructor from the Apprentice School of Newport News Ship Building Company. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Newport News. He is survived by two daughters, Joan B. Hunnicutt, Burke, Jacquelyn Baird, Columbia, Md.; one stepdaughter, Dorothy Cook, Newport News; one son, Thomas B. Baird Jr., Wytheville; two stepsons, Carlton Coppersmith, Simsbury, Conn., George Williams, Seoul, Korea; four sisters, Marion Rieker, Elsie Christie, Roberta Spencer, Ina Clarke, all of Newport News; six grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; one great-grandchild; three stepgreat-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, November 4, 1993, in Trinity Lutheran Church by Rev. Thomas E. Bosserman. Burial will be in Peninsula Memorial Park.
