OBIT-HURT, ANNIE RUTH CECIL
HURT, Annie Ruth Cecil, 86, of Rising Sun, Md., and formerly of Roanoke,
died Tuesday, November 2, 1993, at Calvert Manor Nursing Home, Rising Sun, Md.
She was a graduate of the West Nottingham Academy, 1924, in Colora, Md.,
afterwards she attended the Virginia State Normal School, after which she
taught in the Virginia Public School System. She graduated from the Jefferson
Hospital School of Nursing, Roanoke, in 1929, and she became part of the
Jefferson Hospital Staff, until she retired in 1978. She was a member of the
Greene Memorial Methodist Church and the Margaret Lynn Lewis Chapter of the
National Society of the D.A.R., Roanoke. She was preceded in death by her
husband, Clarence Lacy Hurt. She is survived by one sister, Alice Cecil
Dallam, Rising Sun, Md., with whom she lived; three nephews and one niece.
Graveside services will be Friday, November 5, 1993, 2 p.m. in the Hopewell
United Methodist Church Cemetery, Port DePosit, Md. Arrangements by R. T.
