SANDLOT SUPER BOWL SET FOR SATURDAY, SUNDAY

The 1993 Roanoke Valley Sandlot Football Super Bowl will be held Saturday and Sunday at the Salem Stadium.

More than 1,000 youths on teams from Salem, Roanoke and Bedford, and Botetourt, Roanoke and Bedford counties participated on 58 football and cheerleading teams that have competed to be in this year's bowl.

The games are sponsored by the Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Youth Sports Committee. Admission is $2 and proceeds will be distributed to the athletic programs in the participating localities.

The Pee Wee divisions championships start at 10 a.m. Saturday, and the Little Divisions games start at 2:30 p.m. Junior Division championships start Sunday at 1 p.m.
