A one-time nightclub entertainer and musician, Steele entered the ministry as a second career. Since 1980, he's combined his talents to take his gospel message to churches and church gatherings during part of each year.
Steele is one of the few sightless pastors in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. He's a graduate of Shenandoah Conservatory Winchester and Lutheran Theological Seminary in Gettysburg, Pa.
A spaghetti supper at 5:30 p.m. in the church fellowship hall will precede Steele's appearance.
\ A rally to provide information about a new CHRISTIAN SEX EDUCATION PROGRAM that emphasizes abstinence until marriage will be held this evening at 6:15 at Main Street Baptist Church in Christiansburg.
The program, "True Love Waits," is being promoted among Southern Baptist congregations. However, tonight's rally is open to all, not just Baptists.
