`SMART' HIGHWAY PRESENTATION

A presentation and panel discussion on the "smart" highway will be held Monday, 7:30-9:30 p.m., in Town Council chambers. The program is sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Montgomery County.

Keynote speaker will be Dan Brugh, resident engineer for the Virginia Department of Transportation's Salem District.

Panelists will be:

Nadine J. Newcomb, moderator, president of the League of Women Voters of Montgomery County.

Dan Fleming, professor emeritus, social studies education, Virginia Tech.

Roger Hedgepeth, mayor of Blacksburg.

Tony Hobeika, director of Virginia Tech's Center for Transportation.

Don Schumacher, attorney, formerly with the U.S. Department of Transportation.

Brian Wishneff, director for economic development, Roanoke.
