A HUMANE BENEFIT CONCERT

An "alternative country" singer and songwriter will perform Tuesday and Wednesday in Blacksburg in a benefit for the Montgomery County Humane Society.

Walter Hyatt, who first gained fame in the early 1970s in Austin, Texas, will perform at 9 and 10:45 p.m. at Maxwell's Restaurant & Bar, 1204 North Main St.

A portion of the proceeds from the $3 cover charge will go to the humane society. For more information, call Maxwell's at 552-3300, or the Montgomery Humane Society at 382-1166.
