OBIT-GUNTER, AVIS FRANCE

GUNTER, Avis France, 80, of Route 2, Rocky Mount, died Thursday, November 4, 1993, at Franklin Memorial Hospital. She was born April 19, 1913, in Franklin County, son of the late George Posie and Loutitia Thomas France and a retired employee of Tultex. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Lee Gunter. She is survived by a son, Emmett Leon (Jack) Gunter of Bassett; daughter-in-law, Martha Jane Gunter of Bassett; sisters, Lera Quinn of Glade Hill, Myrtle Martin of Rocky Mount, Mary Cannaday of Ferrum; brothers, Coy France of Strasburg, Cecil France of Bassett. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Collins Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Randall Blackmon officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday, 7 to 9 p.m., Collins Chapel. Interment will be in Franklin Memorial Park, Rocky Mount. Memorials may be made to Fork Mountain Rescue Squad, Route 2, Rocky Mount, Va.
