OBIT-BELCHER, JOHN LUTHER
BELCHER, John Luther, 83, of Floyd, passed away Friday, November 5, 1993,
in the Baptist Hospital of Winston Salem, N.C., as a result of a September 2,
1993 automobile accident. He was a World War II veteran and he retired from
the National Park Service. He is survived by his wife, Claudine W. Rorrer
Belcher, of Floyd; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Carl and Geneva
Belcher of Meadows of Dan, Calvin and Freeda Rorrer of Floyd, and J. B.
Belcher of Willis; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sylvia and Bud Epperly of
Pilot, and Juanita and Buddy Moore of Eden, N.C.; one sister, Mrs. I. W.
(Edna) Conner of Meadows of Dan; twelve grandchildren; seven
great-grandchildren. Funeral service 2 p.m. Sunday, November 7, 1993 at
Gardner Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bryan Childress and Rev. Robert S.
Link Sr. officiating. Interment will be in Slate Mountain Presbyterian
Cemetery. Friends may call after 1 p.m. Saturday at Gardner Funeral Home,
where the family will be from 7 to 9.
